http://ubuntuforums.org – I have a problem with nvidia ion in ubuntu 12.04 I found some solutions for another eee pc here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1677780 and http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...&postcount=301 but are strictly for another model of asus eee pc. My problem is: nvidia-settings says: You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server. sudo nvidia-xconfig WARNING: Unable to locate/open X configuration file. New X configuration file written to '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' and after restar (Hardware)

I've recently donwloaded Kubuntu 9.10 and installed into my laptop, I fell in love with it, and I decided to install it in my personal computer too.

So I put in my cd, and wait until CD boots, select my language, and select the "install" option.

I have a problem very similar to this guy: Desktop does not show when I installed nvidia drivers!. I have the same problem with the desktop not being present when I install choose the nvidia drivers from the software sources dialog.

I've trie the answer mark as the solution, but this doesn't help me.
