[all variants] Application Preload and Games?

http://ubuntuforums.org – I see a few blog's and video's talking about an app called Preload. (Program that cashes common run programs in RAM) I have seen people say it works excellent for machines above 6GB Memory. I do have 8, but I am wondering if this will rob preformance from games. I do plan to take advantage of Steam showing some love. It says it does use up to 50%, so will it clear it out of the way during games or am I stuck with 4GB to run the OS along with the game when playing? (If I were to install it) (Hardware)

Hi at all!

i have Ubuntu 12.10 64 Bit installed and 8GB of Ram on my Notebook. Its a fresh Installation, but Programs (Terminal, Chromium...) just dont open instantly...not slow..but also not fast. 7.8 GB Ram are shown, but only 1-1.5gb are used. i Undestand, that preload should load often used stuff into the Ram at boot, and i looked into the preload settings file:

Most of the gamers just stick on to Windows Vista because they think of games ie. the real GAMES only go with windows!. Well that is a misconception! ok, i've got suse 11.2 kde installed. question: where is the config file of preload? it's not in /etc/preload.conf. and how could i make dolphin preload so it is loaded faster? is there a way to specify what program to preload?

Seems like my left arrow key is stuck in games, the menu and car is also just turning left automaticly. Ive had the same problem on some games in windows when youre starting games with an controller plugged in.
