Deskbar Applet is a Gnome applet to allow easy access to various search engines (like Google's Deskbar for Windows). (read more)
I'm not new to the Deskbar applet. I've seen it on numerous websites, and have seen its praises as well, but I've never actually been too interested on using it. I was a fool.
Is there any tool similar to Deskbar available for Ubuntu 12.10?
Using Unity, the file lens does the job, but I can't work with Unity, so I have to use another desktop environment (fallback version/xfce).
