I picked up a pack of DVD labels at ALDI and I've been trying to set up a template I can use to print onto them. It doesn't have any bundled software as far as I can tell, so this is the only way.

I'm trying to get the printout to look like this:

Is it true to say:

A) OUTPUT chain is for the packets that are "generated" by the machine itself i.e. OUTPUT chain affects connect() function.

B) INPUT chain is for packets that are "addressed to" and will end at the machine i.e INPUT chain affects bind() and listen() functions.

If yes, why would you want to control these features on a firewall?

I have an Aldi PC with a Q8200 processor and have installed Fedora11 on this system. Regularly I get updates to install, but also updates for i586 packages, which give a conflict with the x86_64 packages already installed. Sometimes I have missed a i586 package in the update list, resulting in an error next time.
