After installation System monitor shows that memory usage is over 500 MB - pure system after start.
There are no processes which use more 20 MB of memory. Other versions of Ubuntu used about 200 MB. I'm using 64bit version. Intel i7, 16 GB of memory.
What's going on? What process are eating my memory?
Yesterday, I had a ESXi server working. Total memory required by the deployed virtual machines is higher than the physical RAM. The disk also has a few Gigabytes of free capacity.
Today my server stopped normal operation!
Hi,
I'm using the command "top" to see how much memory the system is using (ram). Now, when I go to the desktop and run the system monitor tool that comes by default with the OS, it shows lot less memory usage then "top".
Top shows I'm using 1.7GB memory while the system monitor tool shows I'm using 560MB...
On Windows 7 and Windows 2008 SP2, how can I view who or what is using up my memory?
Seems like an simple question, but using Resource monitor and Performance monitor, I only seem to get snapshots of memory usage.
What is the best way to determine what available memory was at 03:00 hours yesterday? Is it possible to do with the built-in perfomance software of windows server?
I have the following questions regarding Linux memory:
I know that the active memory is the portion of memory which is most frequently accessed. But can someone explain me how linux considers a memory location to be utilised for active memory or inactive memory.
What all components does active memory comprises of ?
I have read that linux uses free memory for caching, to make system faster. However, both Nagios and Paessler PRTG monitoring system show me that my memory usage is critical.
I could change Nagios mem_usage script to sum free and cached memory, but would that be correct information? I doubt that they misunderstood Linux memory usage.
Lets say I have 8 GB RAM.
I have an LG -E405 phone running Android 2.3.6.
As can be seen here, the phone has 1GB internal memory and 384Mb RAM.
When I look at default App manager, this is what I get,
RAM - 231Mb
System Memory - 157 Mb.
Internal Memory - 378Mb.
SD Card - 2Gb.
Also, all the applications I install, by default take up space from System memory.
Many tutorials explain about moving apps from internal memor
After upgrading my Samsung S2 to Jellybean, I have, in my notifications, a "Storage space" warning that some system functions may not work properly.
Also, when I try to install any app, I get the error: "Out of space. Free up some space and try again", which gives me a link to Manage Applications.
