We have a filesystem whose usage has gone above 81%, i tried to zip some files in the sub directories but the space is not released in the main file system.
> df -h
Filesystem size used avail capacity Mounted on
/u01/app 5.8G 4.6G 1.2G 81% /u01/app
/u01/app/oracle/exp 16G 582M 15G 4% /u01/app/oracle/exp
Here we have FS /u01
i installed the oracle express edition database via the rpm from their site ... "oracle-xe-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm"
but my system is a fedora11 x86_64 machine
Someone says the default
$ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
$ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.0.2/db_home1
and data files store at
$ORACLE_BASE/oradata/$ORACLE_SID
with file system storage type.
But in my server, the two parameters are
$ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app
$ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle
and file stores at
/u01/app/oradata
I created this SID with the tool "dbca" and default templat

How can be done coping files that have some suffix at the end, into same dir with the smallest command possible:
Example have directory containing files:
cassandra.yml.example
database.yml.example
facebook.yml.example
cache.yml.example
system.yml.example
need to copy them and have names like this:
cassandra.yml
database.yml
facebook.yml
cache.yml
system.yml
