AGP Aperture Size & Memory Errors

http://serverfault.com – I’m having some problems with the BIOS settings of a Tyan s2885 motherboard with 4GB of ram. If I have the AGP aperture<2GB I get error messages “Northbridge Error” and “Invalid GART PTE entry during table walk” almost constantly. I have the BIOS setting “GART Error Reporting” disabled. However, if I have the aperture=2GB I get the error: “Consider rebooting with iommu=memaper=2 to get a good aperture” and no more errors. I’ve tried two different AGP card, a nVidia NV5M64 and a WinFast GeForce2 Ultra, both have the same issue. It’s worth noting that graphics performa (HowTos)
