Again, about ATI

http://forums.opensuse.org – Hey guys, I hv just switched from ubuntu9.10 to opensuse, and again the nightmare of ATI began. I use ati mobility hd2400, it worked somehow well under ubuntu. Just that resizing or maximizing windows is very slow when 3d effect is activated. But there is a solution under ubuntu9.10, https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa It worked. After installing these packages, my laptop didn't lag any more. However, when I switched to opensuse and install the ati official driver, the nightmare came again. I am thinking about installing apt and use this ppa, but will it affect the system? Or since this solution actually comes from fedora which also use rpm, is there any packages for opensuse as well?
