I have samsung captivate glide with android with OS 2.3.6 (gingerbread?). I've been a unix/linux guy for a few decades but am new to phone android OS. I am wondering if I root this phone and then upgrade soon to ICS will my rooting prevent upgrade or might I need to do the rooting again.
Perhaps it's best to just wait a bit, upgrade to ICS and then root.
Firstly I have an s3 running JB with Rogers here in Ontario. Ive been thinking about rooting my phone mainly because I want a better battery life and connect a ps3 controller with my phone for the GTA app.
I honestly know nothing about rooting or what this process even means completely but I have some questions:
1) Will rooting change the layout of my phone right away?
I got an android version of 2.35 in which i could get no hell of the great apps......i heard if i active superuser on my phone(root) i could get any stuff.......and i rooted my phone now i cant understand whats the uses of rooting and also tell me how to upgrade my version..
So, I have a new ZTE Blade III smartphone but i have a big problem with rooting. I have tried more rooting techniques and nothing worked for me. For example z4root. I enable USB debugging i start the app and when it says starting rooting shells (or something similar) it only crashes and shows me the home screen. The same is with the Super One Click and Bin4y root.
I currently bricked my phone after the "Rooting" procedure failed, I followed the instructions (Ive done rooting before on my S2) but when it was on the process of rooting it failed and now Im getting the error of "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.
