I just downloaded and burned this disc for 11.1 and burned it as instructed with Infrarecorder. It boots up to the selection screen aka (normal gnome, failsafe, floppy..) but if I go beyond this screen, my screen becomes a garbled mess, kind of like a burn in test in an old arcade game machine. I tried using 11.2 gnome and it wont install correctly either.
I installed openSUSE, last version, then I tried to install driver on my touchpad, it will not installed, so I installed it in this way:
zypper install ./filename_.rpm
After that my openSUSE will not load.
Okay I put in the cd, the first time it loaded installation but took forever to do anything. Finally (when i got back from school) It was loaded and it went to the desktop I saw to icons, Examples and Install. I clicked install and it gave me an error (Not immediately it took 5 minutes to give me the error).
I recently installed Linux Mint 13 KDE but it's not working fine. At first I had to use failsafe mode to boot because normal boot takes to a textual login.
If I use normal boot and text login I'm not able to run KDE nor with kdm start neither with startx.
kdm says that's already running. Instead X is not able to run because can't connect Xserver to display.
Hi thereUntil yesterday I had both crunchbang and winxp installed on my desktop computer. Today I reinstalled winxp and then proceeded to install CrunchBang from a Live CD (R20111125 image). After selecting Live Session and hit ENTER nothing happened.
I've just installed OpenSUSE 11.2, and I've already come across problems. Could be KDE, I guess, because I'm able to switch to a console, but switching back gives me a frozen system which I have to to a hard shutdown with. On the other hand, I've got an ATI card, which could also be the problem.
Hi,
I've been trying to boot and install from a live-CD of Fedora 17, on my laptop. The laptop is a HP g6-1150sd with an Radeon graphics-card. But after booting the live-CD, the screen goes black. Is there a boot-option I can give at start-up, so that I can eventually install from the live-CD?
I've installed yesterday Ubuntu 12.10 32-bit version (as recommended) on my laptop. It was a fresh install, alongside Windows XP. On grub, after choosing normal boot on ubuntu, it starts loading things, but before starting the Ubuntu loading screen (with the dots) it stops flashing HDD activity led, and hangs there, and I need to hard shutdown the laptop.
I downloaded the live cd iso and installed it on usb using this command (while it was unmounted):
dd if=openSUSE-11.2-KDE4-LiveCD-i686.iso of=/dev/sdc bs=4M
