Hi,
Not sure if this is the right spot for this....
I own a Sony VAIO VPCEA35FL Laptop, and I'm having problems burning CDs/DVDs.
It seems that the burn process itself works, but once the disc is done, it can't be played.
I tried Brasero and k3b, both without success.
Sometimes the TOC can be read without a problem, but the data never is readable.
Also, when I try to play video DVDs, the dvd drive becomes noisier and usually the video stops for a f
I've been ripping my DVDs to have my multimedia library on my laptop for when I travel. I used Brasero to take the images as ISOs. I can mount them, but they will not play in the movie player or vlc.
Any thoughts or assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hardware Forum:
My IBM Thinkpad T42p is running Fedora Core 11. I upgraded from a previous version (FC 7, I think) and, initially, the laptop's CD/DVD recognized both CDs (data and audio) and DVDs. After installing other software packages, though, CDs no longer were recognized. DVDs still play -- I can watch movies on VLC, for instance.
I'd like to play DVDs on my Android TV stick.
hello there,i use crunchbang for a while now and today i encountered an issue i can't resolve. of course i did some researching on the problem, but didn't come up with a solution.main problem is, i can't play the dvd i recently bought. sound and video are working fine on my laptop.
I've installed 12.04 beta 64 bit and did updates and install ubuntu-restricted-extras and DVDs still will not play. what else is needed to play DVDs?
I've used Ubuntu for many years and haven't had this problem, unless its a bug in this beta version.
Any ideas?
Okay, my disc drive on my Toshiba Satellite L355 laptop will not read DVDs or CDs anymore. I've cleaned the discs and the lens, tried many different Media Players, got ALL the permissions, and even scanned for viruses and such. I tested the drive on OpenSUSE and it played the movies fine so it can't be hardware. So it's definitely got to be something with Ubuntu.
