Video sharing startup Vilynx launched to enable its users to quickly and easily manage videos that they have shot and stored across multiple devices. Linking in to a wide range of cloud storage devices, and with a ready stable of mobile apps, the company hopes to make users’ personal video assets easily accessible wherever they are.

AOL’s On Network, which is the company’s distribution and syndication network, has steadily grown the number of videos in its library, as well as the number watched each month by viewers. It’s now Number 2 among video properties on comScore’s Video Metrix, and is now making its video library available on more devices.

Well, it’s taken a while, but SimpleTV is finally shipping its $149 streaming TV box to users. After previewing its hardware and CES, and following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the combination Sling-TiVo device will soon be in users’ living rooms.

Roku is announcing at CES today a significant milestone both in the amount of content and the number of devices that are compatible with its USB-sized streaming stick. The company now has more than 700 channels of content its subscribers can choose from, as well as 14 device manufacturers making TVs that users can hook the streaming stick into.

TokBox, the San Francisco-based WebRTC and video chat company recently acquired by Spain’s Telefónica Digital, announced that it has launched what it calls the “first platform to power WebRTC video chat across browsers and iOS devices.” TokBox’s OpenTok platform allows developers to integrate video chat into their apps, and thanks to today’s release of OpenTok for Web

Fans of Roku’s streaming hardware will have another device to choose from soon, as it has set a price and shipping date for its new USB-shaped Streaming Stick. It’s also garnered some more content for its streaming devices, with the addition of a new Vudu app for purchasing and renting Hollywood movies.

It’s not an uncommon sight to see pundits and fanboys pit iOS’s Siri against Google’s mobile combination of Voice Search and Google Now, but persistent reports maintain that Google has been working to bring its contextually aware Google Now service to iOS devices. Thanks to a supposed promo video obtained by Engadget, though, those reports may have just become a lot more solid.
