We want to create our own UI to manage addon domains, which talks to our API, which in turn uses API2 to create and manage domains.
We want to avoid the situation when a client uses a native cPanel UI to manage domains because we need to track these domains in our database.

Strange behavior since few days on one account on cpanel :
I have more that 10 domains parked on the main account domain, with subdomains (wildcards) working fine.
Now i added some new domains but when i want to create some subdomain, only the main domain appear in the list !
Error:
There was a problem creating the addondomain.
Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than (0) addon domains! The domain below was not setup.

When creating an addon domain, cpanel defaults to /public_html/addon.com for the root directory for the addon domain. This results in the root directory being /home/acct/public_html/addon.com.
What are the pros and cons of using /addon.com as the root directory instead of /public_html/addon.com?

We got a request from a client to extend the Parked/Mask domain feature so that if you have a number of addon domains etc on your account you can park a domain name onto that addon folder/domain.
This would be a great feature within the clients cPanel side as we were able to do this only via WHM.
Hope this would be useful to others as well.

if we add an "Addon Domain" and set the "Dokument Root Home :" just to /public_html
the domain is added but now the rights of public_html are:
drwxr-xr-x 17 user1 www 4096 10.

Currently the default folder for addon domains is /public_html
We have quite a few support requests from users who do not know that thay can replace the full path.
We would like to be able to replace /public_html/ to /addon_domains/ for addon domains and public_html/ to /sub_domains/ for subdomainsÂ…
I don't think it would be very difficult to implement and it could save us a bit
