I'm searching for a solution to restrict my active directory users, so that they can set a desktop wallpaper from only from a selection of 5 differnt pictures.
Our company has a set of 5 pictures. User should now can select individually one of the 5 pictures for their desktop wallpaper. But no other Pictures should be allowed.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks!
Best regards, Ronny

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10. Today, I discovered that when I click on "Change Desktop Background" from the desktop's right-click menu, instead of taking me to the wallpaper-change module, it launches the System Settings application. Even there, the "Background" option is missing.
![When I select "Change Desktop Background" from the desktop's right click menu, this window appears.
After I upgraded to the Ubuntu 12.04, it seems if I want a wallpaper, the only option is the default one, and the desktop background (wallpapers) would be changed throughout the day (once per hour).
I have just installed opensuse 11.2 and am using the gnome desktop environment. I just can't get it to change wallpapers. I select a wallpaper in the list, and nothing happens. I download a wallpaper and add it to the backgrounds. select it. nothing happens. I don't particularly like the default wallpaper and I hate to abandon the whole OS just because of this, but it's irritating.
I just installed Ubuntu 12.4 and can't figure out for the life of me how to change the desktop background to one of my pictures. I am to the point where I think that maybe something is not working right. Here is what I did (following logic and then confirming this with an ubuntu 12.4 help page).
1) Right click on desktop, choose "Change desktop background".
hi,I am afraid I can't help with that specific nitrogen-folder issue...but I can tell you how what works for me: I let nitrogen read files only from its default folder (~/images/wallpapers) and I just create a symlink of my new wallpaper file into that folder:ln -s /full/path/to/the/image/wall.jpg /home/yourusername/images/wallpapers/wall_symlink.jpgand than select the new wallpaper from nitr
I been poking around the wallpapers on KDE 4.8.5 and had same issue with 4.9 on F17. When I select weather wallpaper option I'm able to search and find my location but once I click Apply goes back to default wallpaper. I performed searches on this but haven't found any information. Is there a plugin I'm missing?
