I am on a new computer and running a fresh install of Fedora 17.
I'm new to Fedora, from Ubuntu.
Mine is a Ubuntu 11.10 fresh install, and since the beginning I've noticed that I can't install any software from the Software Center because the install button is always greyed out and unclickable. What could the problem be? Also, sometimes when I'm doing something, a dialog box pops up saying that the login-keyring did not get unlocked when I logged in and tells me to input my password.
I've been using Hardy Heron for a few months on a third-hand Compaq Presario S3200NX with the original monitor with few problems. I was recently given a new-to-me flatscreen (Gateway 900W, mfg June 2006) for use instead and attempted to install it with no luck.
Here's what I've managed to see on the monitor:
Monitor on, computer off: black screen, orange power button

Dear Friends,
I have this 6 yrs+ old Toshiba laptop, which was working fine until a few days ago when its DVD writer died suddenly. I want to install the latest Fedora 18 LXDE 32+ bit on it (I have downloaded the iso already) as I did install and run the Fedora 17 LXDE 32+ bit without much problems using a CD then.
Dear members of Fedora,
I have installed Fedora LXDE on my Acer eMachine E443. It's an AMD computer and most works fine. However, I was thinking of learning Java and then I need javac.
The problem is that the function is not there in the Terminal. I have searched the Internet but not found anything relevant to this edition of Fedora. I'm thinking of Fedora 17.
