Hi,
I want to dual boot Fedora 16 32 bit and Mint 12 32 bit. I have created 3 primary partitions, one for swap, one for Fedora 16 and one for Mint 12. I installed Fedora to sda1 and its Grub to the MBR. Then I installed Mint to sda3 and its Grub to sda3. Now when the pc boots, it does not show Mint on the boot menu and it only shows Fedora, why so? I think Mint 12 also uses Grub2, right?
Hi there
I am currently running Fedora 12 and Win7. I have backed up all my files from Fedora 12 and want to overwrite it. I want to install Fedora 14 and Mint Debian 201012 and keep Win7 the way it is. I know how to do this without Mint but I have no experience with grub2. So in what order should I install the two linux distributions and what do I have to take care of?
Thanks
Complete linux noob here.
I've got a dual-booting laptop - win7 & linux mint 13 - and I want to get rid of mint, keep win7 and install ubuntu 12.04.
Also, I want to have a 'separate' home folder (I've only got one disk drive) so that if I want to go back to mint (or any other distro) then I won't have to overwrite my home folder again.
Anyone tell me - in noob friendly terms - how to do tha
I have Windows installed on one SSD. The SATA cable is currently unplugged because I'm about to install two Linux distros on another SSD, those being Linux Mint 14 and BackTrack 5.

what I want is to have more icons at its livecd user (/home/mint/Desktop) but I can't find /home/mint on the squashfs filesystem nor at the initrd fs.
the changes I make in etc/skel do not apply as well
what am I missing?
I have a 4-boot config on my comp. Just erased a partition and want to throw in mint 12 inside of it. No DVD's or USB's near me.
It is possible to install linux mint 12 in other partition, without DVD or USB?
I am at linux mint 9, I have downloaded mint 12, and mounted as a DVD. What now? Can I run the installer from mint 9? How? Where it is?
