Sprint just released an OTA update for their Samsung Galaxy S III. The software version is L710VPLG2 and according to Sprint, it provides a “Google security update.” The user should feel nothing relatively new with this update, it seems as if Sprint is just enhancing the security of the phone. Nonetheless, it’s always good to give your phone any beneficial update.
Sprint's HTC Evo 4G smartphone may have enjoyed a successful launch on Friday, but not quite as successful as Sprint originally claimed, the company admitted Tuesday.
Sprint officially holds the controlling interest in Clearwire after buying out a shareholder pushing their stake in Clearwire from 48.1% to 50.8%. Clearwire and Sprint were both struggling financially but this move was made possible by Softbank acquiring Sprint on Monday.
Earlier today we had reported that a supposed Verizon Galaxy S III model was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website. Now a possible Sprint variant has also appeared under the model number SPH-L710, which closely resembles the model number to Sprint’s Galaxy S II, SPH-D710.
To date Sprint has been the only carrier to pre-load Google Wallet on its devices. Now it would appear that Sprint will be offering its own wallet referred to as “Touch”. More importantly, since both wallets need access to the secure element, Sprint will most likely not be able to support both services.
Today Sprint announced more cities being added to their 4G LTE network. The new cities include:
Baltimore, MD
Gainesville, GA
Manhattan/Junction City, KS
Sedalia, MO
Along with the rollout of 4G LTE service, Sprint also announced upgrades to existing 3G service in Baltimore, Boston, and Washington, DC.
Over the weekend we reported on some listings in the FCC database for Samsung Galaxy Note II devices for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Missing from the list were Sprint and U.S. Cellular versions despite a previous announcement that these carriers would also get the device.
‘Tis the season for sweet deals on new devices. In the past, T-Mobile’s been known to run a few buy-one-get-one deals. Well Sprint is getting in on that action this season with their holiday BOGO deal. This deal is good for the Samsung Galaxy Victory, S II, and S III. The deal will run from December 7th through 24th and will be available for new and upgrading customers.
I was noticing that I have some Sprint apps on my phone,
And I want to know if I can delete them?
They are and the main one I want to delete is Smart Device Manager,As I not going to be purchasing the service.
The others are Sprint Installer and Sprint Touch Management.
Or should I just leave them alone?
