Not sure my question's title is explicit, so I'll try and explain it the best I can.
I have a dedicated web hosting server running Linux (Gentoo). There are a couple websites hosted on it, and therefore a couple domain names from multiple providers have their DNS zone settings set to point to my server.
There is one particular website that used to be hosted on this server, but was then removed.
I have a Windows Server 2008R2 Active Directory and Exchange 2010 server (client access, hub transport and mailbox roles) in a primarily Linux server environment. A Linux server running BIND9 is master for all zones, including AD specific ones, with updates allowed from the Windows server (and from a separate Linux DHCP server).
We have 10 sites hosted on our Windows based Apache server. The server is also a domain controller, DNS and DHCP server. All websites work great externally but but internally we can only access one or two of them.
What could be causing the problem?
I've got one server in a DMZ which has limited access via SMB to another one in the internal network. A web server on that external machine needs access to a whole partition on that internal server.
I'm still using a quick and dirty solution. the web server still runs as a SYSTEM user. I managed to mount the share for that user.
The main problem: this setup is not reboot-safe.
Hello.
I have a self hosted server with Apache2 pointed with the domain example.com. I have also some virtual servers www.example.com, cloud.examle.com, etc.
This server is in my LAN, and when I try to acces to my server within the lan throw www.examle.com y get my router's configuration page. From outside the LAN www.example.com and cloud.examle.com works properly.
I want to have a Linux server for web hosting (L) and a windows server for web hosting too (W) and a dns server (D) for dns records of website in (L) and (W).
I'm using kloxo in linux and websitepannel in windows.
Is it possible to add the dns server to these web hosting servers so that when I add a domain to one of theme dns record of the domain be inserted in dns server automatically?
I've inherited "ownership" of a network which has a Windows 2003 Server running as a Domain Controller and file server (no IIS or DNS running).
Hi, was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I've just moved hosts and moved to a dedicated server.
I have a server that is hosted by my university. I have root access, but no control over network setup, firewall, etc. This server's DNS resolves to an internal IP here on campus (10.x.x.x), and an external IP outside campus.
I also have a few servers hosted at Amazon, and they mostly work well. However, one of them started to resolve the university server by its internal IP address.
