I have samsung captivate glide with android with OS 2.3.6 (gingerbread?). I've been a unix/linux guy for a few decades but am new to phone android OS. I am wondering if I root this phone and then upgrade soon to ICS will my rooting prevent upgrade or might I need to do the rooting again.
Perhaps it's best to just wait a bit, upgrade to ICS and then root.
I have a SGS-2 and I have a windows Vista Home OS on my Laptop and I have Kies Version when I try to Upgrade to the latest Android Version 2.3.3, it says updating and the end it says update failed. I have tried all permutations and combinations.
It just does not upgrade to the latest version of Android.
i m using htc amaze which have android 2.3.4. i want to upgrade it. but no updates available in software updates in setting option. i want to upgrade it. i m using windows 8 in my pc. no device detected when i connect it. only charging happening. please help me.
I use the android 2.3.6 and i'm very new to android. Regularly i read about higher versions and about upgrading and i would like to upgrade to a newer version but i don't know how and if it's worth it to upgrade to for example 'Ice Cream Sandwich'?
