Hello everyone :)
I have sound issues with my hp dv6 Ubuntu12.04 laptop.
I tested it with : Speakers, bose oe2 headphone, apple headphone, cheap headphone from airlines company.
The first issue is that when i play a song on speaker (beats audio) the volume is really much lower than on windows.
I recently installed a clean copy of 12.04. So far everything has worked reasonably well, but I have a problem with the volume. Unless I have the volume at 1/4, or above I don't get any sound. Above that the sound control is quite precise, but If I want the volume to be any lower (which I often do), I have to adjust the volume on the individual application I am using.
[Rooted UCLB3 with Zen's Infusion A kernel, voodoo sound installed]
When I go to Settings / Sound / Volume I see 4 sliders (Incoming Call Volume, Media Volume, System Volume, Notification Volume).
For 3 of the 4, when I move the slider I hear a sample of the volume as expected.
But for the system volume slider, when I move it I hear nothing at all.
I have problems with my sound card, an Asus Xonar XD on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. To hear something, i need to set Ubuntu's volume at 100% and speakers volume at 75%.
Ubuntu sound,
alsamixer.
At this moment i can barely hear something with some quality. But then, at the moment when I increased volume, like a 10% more, it sounds distorted.
How can i fix this?
Thx.
Hi all.
I've had enough. A few months ago I was updated to 4.2.1. Since then my speaker volume seems to be half of what it was. The speakers on the GN were never great but if I played a song to someone they'd be able to hear it. Now, it is really quiet on full volume.
In app equalisers don't seem to work.
Hi,
How do you maximize sound volume in Gnome Shell under Ubuntu 11.10?
I have a Macbook, and my sound and volume keys generally work, but even if I use the volume keys to set volume to 100%, the sound is very low. However, if I open the Sound dialog, the "Output Volume" slider goes up to 150%, which allows me to comfortably hear sound.
I'm using Fedora 11, kde desktop, and the alsa sound system, everything completely up-to-date via yum. Sound works with the exception that in order to get a reasonable volume from my applications (any applications), I need to set the master volume so high that the system sounds, like login/logoff chimes, are soooo loud I'm worried I'm going to wreck my speakers.
hello there,
few days ago i upgraded from jaunty to karmic. everything goes well except of sound.
with jaunty everything was ok, but koala remains silent no matter what i try...
at first i thought it was problem with codecs as ogg files were played ok, but after installing ffmpeg, and other codec packcages there was no sound at all.
