I have a Logitech C510 webcam connected to my desktop running 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10, but it doesn't seem to be working when I run Cheese and Skype. After doing some search, it seems this webcam should just work out of the box. However, Cheese and Skype don't seem to work with it.
I did a lot of googling to try to fix this problem myself without finding it, so I'm putting this out there in case it helps anyone else speed up the process.
I have a Logitech QuickCam Express (lsusb ID 046d:0840 ). It's older than dirt. Meanwhile, I'm running Quantal / 12.10 with GNOME. I plugged the camera in, installed skype, and like a fool, expected it to work.
since a few months I've got this problem:Today I just wanted to skype a lil' bit with my friend in Zürich. Suddenly my keyboard stopped working. I managed to get it working again just by plug it in again. The problem appears only when I start my webcam. For example over skype.
Webcam stopped working in skype 2.2., it works in cheese, "system/preference/sound"(to turn on microphone) shows the webcam, skype "options/video devices" shows webcam- but 'test' just has a black screen. During calls, the other party sees my avatar image, I see incoming video. The blog/forum suggestions are mostly for Ubuntu 11 & 12.
I have a Presario CQ56 running Ubuntu 12.04 and the webcam does not work with Skype. Skype tells me it does not detect a webcam when I search for one. Is there a way I can fix this?
logitech quickcam messenger not detected by fedora 10 x64.
i've checked the rpmfusion & livna repo's in hopes of finding kmod-gspca, but there is none.
is there any way to get logitech quickcam messenger to work in fedora 10 or 11? or is this webcam unsupported?

Hi, I cannot find an updated driver for a webcam Logitech Quickcam E 2500 webcam. It doesn't work with Cheese nor does it work with Skype. I'm using Lubuntu 12.04 LTS. I have tried the packages qc-usb-utils (utility programs for the QuickCam Express driver) & qc-usb-source (source for the QuickCam Express driver) without a result.
Last week I got a newer kernel via Yast -> Online Update.
Since then, my Logitech webcam does not work anymore.
Neither with Skype or Kopete.
After starting skype, the output of dmesg is:
gspca: bandwidth not wide enough - trying again
ohci_hcd 0000:00:12.0: leak ed f44e30c0 (#81) state 2
When I unplug the webcam and plug it into another USB-port and start skype again,
it works most of the t
