I recently moved into an apartment building which provides free wifi, allowing me to finally be rid of Clearwire. I went out and bought a Netgear WN311B PCI wireless card, and it works perfectly with WinXP (go figure...).
Hello,
I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. After i booted up and did updates, I installed my additional drivers (Nvidia 8600GT, Netgear wn311b) Now i keep getting kernel panic dumps. I have no idea what to do or how to proceed to debug this.
Hi all,
I recently installed Fedora 18 on my Macbook Pro 5,5 (Mid 2009). Everything went great except the I cannot get the wifi to work. I have a Broadcom 4322 chip and I am trying to install the drivers but the tutorials I've tried so far do not work (the tutorials are made for older versions of Fedora but it is very possible I'm doing it wrong).
I have attempted the legacy drivers as my laptop I installed ubuntu on, is a older HP. 4306 model of broadcom.
However, after installing and rebooting a few times, I am still unable to see anything listed under addition drivers. Empty.
Any suggestions? Wireless isnt greyed out, it is checked off to use. But it doesnt light up on my laptop.

Personally, I use Lubuntu 12.10, but I have installed Zorin on my father's computer (from XP to Ubuntu to Zorin). Since the Zorin comp is in the basement, there is no internet connection for now. I transferred the correct .inf file to the Zorin comp after downloading them from the Lubuntu comp, from which I am typing this post now.

I'm aware that there are problems with the current Nvidia card drivers. I got the drivers and ended up seeing nothing but my desktop image when my computer restarted. I managed to remove the update, and I used the "fix" found on the linked page but it didn't work.
I did the code chili555 told me to (You know what i'm talking about ;) )
And it now says
Quote:
Proprietary Drivers are being used to make your computer work properly
But wireless isn't available????
