The problem I am having is this. I have a Huawei E173 broadband modem I use for Internet. It is set up with Network Manager, and was working OK.
Now, if I disconnect (or get disconnected), I can't reconnect. It fails straight away. The only way is to pull out the USB dongle, wait a moment and reconnect it.
In Wheezy and Waldorf network manager does not connect 3G mobile broadband automatically after login like it did in Squeeze and Statler. Setting "Enable Mobile Broadband" is unticked after reboot. The best workaround I've found so far is in an Ubuntu bug report.
I have a Dell studio 1558 laptop. I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 in my laptop. Previously, i have installed 10.04 version. The mobile broadband was working properly in Ubuntu 10.04, but once I installed the new 10.10 version, the mobile broadband is not working.
When I connect my mobile phone, it is detected, and I can create a new connection.
I'm using an EVDO usb Modem. It works perfectly fine for few times. But now on wards when ever I try to connect it shows not enabled in status . I tried to enable it by ticking "Enable Mobile Broadband" but still it shows not enabled but that option gets a checked(tick) mark. And when ever I restart my system "Enable Mobile Broadband" option autamatically unchecked. Any help please

I have looked in previous mobile broadband threads but have been unable to find one that deals with my specific problem. Others have at least managed to get #! to talk to the dongle even if the connection fails. I am trying to get my Orange mobile broadband to work with #! 08.10.01. I added Orange (pay monthly) from the dropdown box in network manager/edit connections.
Hi,
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04. I have a Toshiba Satellite C660. It stays connected to the internet for about an hour then disconnects and doesn't reconnect. It then keeps on asking for the router's password. No matter how many times I click connect it won't reconnect. Windows is fine. Even if it does disconnect it'll connect but Ubuntu wont.
Hi! I'm a new user and I would like to use my ZTE K-3565-z from Vodafone to connect to the internet.
When I plug in the device it will ask me for the pin, after inserting the pin I will be presented a new menu to configure my connection. After all be filled the mobile broadband appears on the network manager, but I can't connect...
I really need some help...
Thank you
PROBLEM:
1 - The netbook can sometimes, sometimes not, connect to the internet mobile broadband 3G (or 2G GSM) via USB 3G modem.
2 - For it to connect to mobile broadband (when it can) I have, after sticking the modem into the USB port, and then enter the shell prompt with the command:
/ Sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id
3 - Then I have to restart the network-manager:
