I'm very new with Ubuntu and generally with linux.
I saw ubuntu and it seems like this OS is really good and stable, and so I decided to install it alongside my windows 7 OS.
I have a few problems with the installation.

I downloaded the 64bit version from Ubuntu official website, and burned it on a dvd.
I set the boot sequence to first load from my CD-Rom.

Ok, I´m new to Ubuntu, and have been trying it out using WUBI, but now I´ve decided to install it on a dual boot configuration alongside my already existing Windows 7 installation.

my 1st option in installation type "install ubuntu along side windows 7" didn't came. I have lots of free space there but the option didn't came, and i went for the 3rd option something else but when i make partition and try to install ubuntu it says "no root file is defined. please correct this from the partiton menu "
I've done a lot of searching for an explanation to this. I have a new computer with windows 8 pre-installed.
The first thing I did was pop in the Ubuntu CD while in Windows. It only gave me the option 'Demo and full installation' instead of 'Install Ubuntu alongside Windows' like it has in the past. Then, I restarted my computer with the disc still in the drive, and booted into the LiveCD environment.
