Is there any possibility to test if the "Upgrade to Ubuntu Version 13.04" would work fine on the specific Hardware constellation?
I mean a check, which would check critical things like "would I get a black screen on boot" , "kernel works", "common hardware functions still working", etc..
Is there any testing application?
I'm testing an application that I'm literally trying to destroy "by any means necessary", or expose any vulnerabilities or bugs that may not be readily apparent. It was developed in VB or C# (or some MS Visual Studio variant). I've been doing some basic automation tests with Python (pywinauto), some gui widget testing, and some sequence testing. Thus far, I haven't uncovered too much.
I'm in a position where we've developed an application on a Dev machine but we want to try to deploy it on a proper server. To test it's performance long term as well as load testing the application on different hardware.
When we try to sell this application we will also need some hardware sizing guidelines. Atleast have a rough idea of what potential customers would want to procure.
Looking to write some tests for my application, I stumbled upon the Android testing pages. After a fairly long read, it quickly became apparent that the only thing that I could possibly get out of it is information about how to test the UI/Activities. What I really want is the way to test my logic with simply ant test, preferably without even involving the device.
