I'm going crazy. I have nearly 3000 mails in my Evolution trash which are 'stuck' there. I've been trying various solutions for hours - deleting files with various extensions, deleting folders.db, renaming folders.db, removing Evolution completely and then restoring it from a backup... Nothing helps.
I love Ubuntu and Evolution so I installed Evolution on Ubuntu 12.04 when I upgraded recently.
I restored my mail from a backup and on starting Evolution for the first time, received a message about converting my emails and once successful, deleting the mbox versions via Edit -> Preferences -> Mail accounts.
This all worked as expected until I did my first backup and realised that the
Hey, I just installed the beta 2 a week or so ago, and since then I have been trying to get Evolution set up. I installed Gnome 3.6 to replace unity and have been enjoying it aside from this issue. I'm not entirely sure what is causing it, but during account setup, Evolution just doesn't ask for a password. It lets me finish the setup however and opens Evolution to empty folders.
I have just installed F11 as a new installation. Before I trashed my F9 system I copied the whole of the disk to a backup volume. I am now replacing my data and settings on an app-by-app basis. However, I cannot seem to get my evolution to come back as it was... The original version had two connections to imap servers, as well as some local folders.
I've just bought a new desktop and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on it. My old desktop has Ubuntu 12.04 with Evolution as the mail client. As Evolution is no longer supported on 12.10 I'm trying to get my Inbox and Sent Items from Evolution onto my new computer such that Thunderbird can read them.
Evolution provides integrated mail, addressbook and calendaring functionality to users of the GNOME desktop. (read more)
I am installing Evolution Mail in another pc, but I want to open and use the local folders (and configuration if possible) of another Evolution installation that I have on a different hard drive. I am connecting this hard drive to the pc I'm installing Evolution using usb. Is this possible? How? Thanks.
Pre-amble:
fresh install of 12.04; old evolution files available.
First question:
As Ubuntu seems to be abandoning Evolution, I assume they have a tool to import evolution files/folders into thunderbird. What is it called in the repos? And no, I'm not looking for the 'complicated' ways.
Second question:
Can one user use thunderbird as his/her email client and another user evolution?
