I want to find drivers for my graphic card and is it able to RUN 3D acceleration?? Cos it's strange, when i use windows go to DXDIAG and to displays it shows INTEL graphic cards but it got installed even nvidia drivers and pannel Please help... if you need other details please tell me... I recently installed Ubuntu alongside with windows 8, but the problem is that the fan is constantly running and I believe the problem is that my nvidia card is always running.

My laptop has two graphic cards.

My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5420, with two graphic cards:

Intel HD Graphics 4000 Nvidia GeForce GT 630M

I took the Thinkpad T400 configuration guide as an example to configure my Linux, but I only get the integrated card to work, and the card is not using the Intel driver

Currently, the behavior of my system is:

using the intel driver in the Xorg.config, X cannot starts, reports cannot find

Core i5 (2nd Generation) 2450M 6 GB RAM DDR3 Mobile Intel HM77 Express NVIDIA GeForce 630M 2 GB DDR Intel HD graphic 3000

Can anyone help me to installing correct driver for standard Dedicated + Integrated in ubuntu 12.10 I really appreciate help.

I'm using Sony Vaio VPCCW26FG (CW Series). It's graphic card is NVidia GeForce GT 330M. I use Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit as my operating system, dual boot with windows 7. Recently I installed new driver from NVidia 256.53, but looks like this driver is not so stable on my notebook. Sometimes the NVidia driver is successfully loaded, but sometimes its failed to load.

Hello, I have a Lenovo B560 laptop with Nvidia Geforce 310m graphic card and am using Xubuntu 11.10. I just managed to instal drivers from Nvidia website (290.10), but when I restart, Xubuntu splash appears but then it goes black console with some lines like stop blabla (ok), start blabla (ok) and then it does nothing.

I'm going through some sort of most weirdest problem here.

During and after installing Ubuntu 12.04.1 x64 LTS. My NVIDIA - 9600GT Graphic card's Cooling fan rotates on the most high RPM and that is obvious to install Graphic Card's drivers to slow it down.

When I install graphic card's drivers, I am not able to boot into Ubuntu again.
