I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but is anybody else getting a LOT of "503 Service Unavailable" error pages when clicking on threads today? I've never encountered this before.

I have a Spring webservice that eventually gets the error message below after a minute. Other requests that dont take this long work fine, and so does the UI. I even increased the connector connection timeout to 20 minutes in the server.xml file. Catalina.out shows live that the request is still processing.
I am using nrvate's cm10 rom for i957 and it always had connection issues (fail to init after reboot). I had dealt with previous lost connections by reconnecting or restarting my tab and it would work after a few tries. However this time it looks different. I lost connection since Saturday at 4pm (Bell).
I have an Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS server (precise). Whenever apache2.2 is being updated by an apt-get upgrade command, the HTTP server is shut down, so the clients cannot connect at all during anything from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the length of the upgrade.
How can I configure my system to return a nice “503 Service Unavailable” error message instead?
We migrated a busy website to Windows Server 2012 with IIS 8. The website randomly gives the error "503 service unavailable" after an user presses F5 the error is gone again. The website is build in ASP.NET MVC 3.
