The Acer Aspire One (110) works almost perfectly with OpenSuse 11.1 (32-bit). After installing either the full DVD or Live version (full DVD install is strongly recommended), using hard wired Ethernet, download the latest updates and the unit will be full...
I've installed Ubuntu 13.10 dual boot with Windows 7 on my acer extensa 5230, so far the only (big) problem is that it doesn't recognize the battery and wont shut down properly (it hang on shutdown but reboot fine), I've searched a fix for this but couldn't figure out anything. Ubuntu seems to only boot whit apci=off, already tried apci=ht command but doesn't work. Any idea?
I have an Acer C7 chromebook on which I have installed Chrubuntu. Everything works great except that the SD card reader doesn't work when the computer is running from battery power. It recognizes the card and works perfectly as soon as I plug it into AC power.
Is there a power management setting somewhere that I need to toggle to be able to use my SD card reader on battery power?
ACPI CPU temperature on my Acer Extensa 5630 is 75C when system idle (65/50 on cores) in Ubuntu 9.10. In Debian I have 45/40C and in Windows XP it is also normal. CPU fan works on high speed every time. CPU freq controller is running, 99% CPU is free and lm-sensors work correctly. I have the same problem in Fedora 11. What could you advice me?
I downloaded ubuntu 14.04 on my old acer 5315 but it keeps shutting down after like 20mns because of the fan but when I switched back to windows it works perfectly. I was considering to upgrade the BIOS but It seems a little bit risky. Can somebody tell me an alternative way to fix this problem? Thanks.
