5.0 - Works great (Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW)

Today I got to test a Samsung SyncMaster 2043nwx. My normal monitor was a 1080p Soniview TV that supports 1920x1080. I use 1680x1050 (16:10) as my common resolution. My amazed is when I see that the launcher icons looks more to a "correct size" of 32px to what they show in my Soniview where they actually take about 50% more using the same resolution.

Tested in Ubuntu 10.04.

I was wondering if anyone could help me fix the resolution for my Samsung SyncMaster 941BW second monitor (along with my laptop monitor).

I've had the resolution working fine with previous versions of ubuntu (at 1440x900) but since I've updated, the xorg.conf file no longer provides the right resolutions. I had the orginal xorg.conf file, but somehow got rid of it.

I just moved to Ubuntu 12.04 64bit, and it does not allow me to get higher resolution then 1024x768 @50Hz, it's horrible. My target is 1280x1024 @75Hz.

Specs:

Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 769MB VGA: NVidia 9800GT

I have a brand new 24" LCD Samsung SyncMaster 2433BWX that works under Windows XP out of the box. Under Windows the screen automatically recognizes the Windows system and takes the best resolution possible. Under Ubuntu I added i810, but I get an error:

My Os = Ubuntu 9.10. I'm using Samsung 14" (SyncMaster 551s) monitor. Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 (4:3) Refresh Rate : 60

Some time the monitor Blackout before/after the Login Screen Display. But the Cpu/Machine is still running !! Then after approximately 1 minute it come back in work automatically.

I was using the monitor (Samsung SyncMaster SA100 via VGA) on desktop with good native resolution(1366x768) with sharper pixel rendering.
