Hi Everyone,
This is a minor issue, but one of those things that's been bugging me. Everything on my laptop works right after the install, including the camera and fingerprint reader (with fprint-demo) with the exception of the Thinkvantage and media player special keys. On my computer, these keys and dedicated mute and volume buttons are separate and above the actual keyboard.

I recently installed ubuntu 12.10 on my Macbook Pro mid 2012 alongside Mountain Lion using rEFIt boot. I am having trouble connecting to wireless network. When I click the internet icon at the top of the menu bar, no networks are shown and when I try to manually connect through edit connections, it doesen't work.
I don't think that this is just a Gnome issues, but I'm not sure.
I have Japanese Sony VAIO VPCCB series laptop. I'm dual booting Windows 7 and UbuntuGnome.
My problem is using the Fn key with the Function keys to use the multimedia features.
I am trying to setup my Thinkpad T420 with xmonad as window manager and with as little gnome as possible. If I launch gnome-settings-manager all my hotkeys (disable touchpad, volume up/down, brightness up/down mute etc) works and sleep when closing lid works.
Hello, new user to Ubuntu Netbook Remix and had a question about resuming from suspend. I have a Toshiba NB205 netbook and I have the classic issues that come with it being installed with Ubuntu, no bluetooth and no speaker output. I was able to get my bluetooth to work with the omnibook-source code, but only when I boot it up.
Picked this up at Target for $30. Works great with the uvcvideo driver, very configurable and every webcam app including Skype can use it. The light that shows when it is on works and even the "take snapshot" button on the top works. Integrated mic also...
My Toshiba C800 laptop (12.04lts desktop) has special function keys as follows:
fn+
F2-BRIGHTNESS DOWN
F3-BRIGHTNESS UP
F4-DISPLAY SELECT
F5-TOUCH PAD on/off
F6-PREVIOUS
F7-PLAY/PAUSE
F8-NEXT
F9-VOLUME DOWN
F10-VOLUME
F11-MUTE
F12-WiFi on/off
F6 to F11 (media player keys) work correctly, but the keys from F2 to F5 and F12 are not working.
Why would some function keys work, but not others?
Hi everybody,
I installed the release candidate of Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 on my brand new HP Mini 5101 Netbook and wanted to give some feedback. I don't know if this is the right place for this, but it was the first which came to my mind! :-)
