I recently upgraded from Lubuntu 12.10 to 13.10 on my HP NX6110 Laptop with a Intel Pro 2200BG wifi adapter. The wifi worked fine on 12.10.....at first it worked fine on 13.10 as well. This afternoon after running for a hour or so, the wifi adapter just quit working. I cannot figure out what happened to it, although the system still sees the adapter....I cannot enable it.
It seems as if the drivers of the intel 2200BG wireless adapter are not installed. Reason for thinking so, I can't switch the wireless button on and off in the 'new' ubuntu (10-10-2012, latest download).
Im noob with ubuntu code.. but it would be great if someone could help out.
HiThis is not a question but a solution for others with same issue as me.I tried Chakra with livecd and installed to hdd too on my IBM R52 laptop, but the system not recognized my wifi automatically so I could not set my internet connection (however /lib/firmware folder contains ipw2200-bss.fw driver needed my wifi).Fortunately I found solution recognizing wifi on Arch wiki.
Just installed Ubuntu 9.04 everything works fine compiz works fine LAN:Intel Corporation 82801DB PRO/100 VE works WLAN:Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG,not original from dell, card from other laptop, works CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI45...
I installed Ubuntu 9.10 last night on my laptop. This is my first time with Ubuntu. Everything seems great except that when I push the button on the laptop to enable the wireless connection it just flashes, it never turns on all the way. This is the same behavior I get in windows before the driver is installed. I've looked around, but I can't see how to install a driver for it.
