I was able to get Epson Stylus TX111 working with Ubuntu 8.04, with all updates installed. This method assumes you have CUPS installed.
It is important to use CUPS for adjusting final settings for this printer.!!
This method is useful for a large number of Epson devices.

I just got a good deal on an Epson stylus nx415 printer/scanner/copier, and tried to install it. When I plugged it in, I was given a list of drivers to chose from. The closest thing was the epson stylus 410, which I tried, but it did not work. Firing up Xsane after that gave me a message that said "no devices available".

I have read quite a bit about the difficulty of getting epson printer/scanners to work with Linux. My printer worked out of the box with Ubuntu 9.10. The scanner setup was another story. Suffice it to say I learned a good deal about my new OS trying to get my scanner to work wirelessly.
