I have been struggling with this problem for almost a day but couldn't find any solutions. I seriously need a help from a Linux geek. I'm currently building up my PC for Cisco study so I bought 2 D-Link QFE-580TX cards and 1 Sun X1034A. After I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, it seems as if the 580TX cards don't work.

Hello. Please help to a new Ubuntu user.
Running 10.04 LTS x64 on Acer Aspire 5720z as the only OS.
Everything worked just wonderful before the recent updates.
After rebooting I stopped being able to browse web or use Skype.
I have a wired connection, via splitter (Netgear 5-port 10\100 fast ethernet switch). Same cable works fine on another laptop with WinXP.
Installed the new Ubuntu 12.10 on my HP Pavillion dv6000 and completely got rid of Windows. No wireless networks being detected. The auto ethernet works fine (that's how I'm posting). Can someone please walk me through this?
