so I have an old toshiba laptop (which used to be windows vista but I upgraded it to windows 7) and it is core2duo and the wireless card is intel(R) wireless wifi link 4965agn, which works really well.
I bought a new laptop recently which is made by lenovo, windows 8 touch screen, 8GB RAM and i7. However, the wireless card SUCKS. It can't connect to anything at all.
I created cyanogenmod 9 rom for Manta mid08, but it should work with other tablets with Allwinner/Boxchip A13 SoC.
Rom status: Third alpha
Basic functions and hardware:Sound Works
Additional hardware:3G Not tested yet
Bluetooth Not tested yet
My question is how fast should I expect my wifi speed to be when I have 50 megabyte download speed on my internet? The speed just doesn't seem as fast as I thought it would be. I tested my desktop and I am get close to 58, but when I tested the tablet wifi it said I was getting about 5 but 11 upload speed. Not sure what I should be getting and if this is normal or if I need a faster router.
I just upgraded to 8.10 so i could upgrade to 9.04 but my wireless connection isn't working when i was on 8.04 ubuntu found the wireless automatically but now i cant figure out how to get it working at all. My wireless card I have came with the laptop, it is a Intel wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN .
My laptop is a dell XPS m1530.
Thanks in advance

I have installed ubuntu 10.10 on my Gateway SX2840-01 with a Intel Wireless 4965AGN installed onto the motherboard. All is working well besides the wireless connection. It scans and shows listed networks, however, it will not connect to anything.
