5.0 - Celeron M 1300MHz,1GB Ram,everything works fine (Dell Latitude D505)

Hi, I'm currently running 9.04 on my Dell inspiron 8500 and everything worked out of the box. But when I tried 9.10 from a USB stick I did not get the wifi (even the diodes on the 3COM card did not light up, although ubuntu detected the hardware). Any suggestions ?

I have a Dell Latitude D800 with a Dell Wireless 1350 (802.11b/g) WLAN miniPCI Card. I need to install wireless on this laptop but I see no wireless card when I know I have the above wireless card. Here are some commands that I ran that I might prove useful:

I've been running Ubuntu on my old Inspiron 5150 laptop for a while now - and it's all good (big improvement over my previous XP/SuSE9 dual boot setup). However... today I tried connecting an external data projector for the first time, and found the Function-F8 key doesn't work - so couldn't switch to the external display. Is there a fix for this?

I ve installed the beta karmic on a toshiba qosmio f30. Everything works fine except the ethernet is missing. Wireless works fine but i cant connect through a wire. The wire works with another laptop that i have. The module that is loaded is e100 and when it is loaded, on the network manager i can see the wire network menu but i have no option auto eth0 to select.

compiz works fine wlan: Broadcom BCM4318 works after using harware-manager and activating the driver by hand. everything else works without problems.

Ever since I installed ubuntu on my laptop the sound has been problematic. at first there was no sound, now I temporarily got it up but its not really properly done. The headphones don't cancel the speakers when I plug them in, and the overall sound is not as loud as it used to be with windows. if someone would help me I would appreciate it.
