I've been using linux full time for about 8 years. Now and then I help someone else migrate from windows to linux. Because I don't often use windows, I often find myself forgetting some of the differences between the operating systems.
I would like a guide that I can give to such users, to help them get more comfortable with using linux.

I'm a Windows person thats new to Linux, I've installed Ubuntu desktop 12.04.1 on a VM and really want to get into doing things but I don't really know where to start. I"ve started a tutorial on Linux commands and wonder where do i go to learn to do things after?
Any direction would be much appreciated. Thank you.

One of the best things about being part of the Linux community is that things are never boring. Take last week, for example, when some anti-Linux screenshots were leaked from a Microsoft ExpertZone training course for Windows 7 retail salespeople.

I love linux, and wished I'd used it years ago when I was learning computers. There is an unkown adventure when using opensource. You like creativity and innovation, you will like linux. Plus, it will teach you areas about computers and technology that some of the other popular OSs left out. I am sure you have heard the term, "one size does not fit all".
I like using Linux, it makes me feel secure. But there are still things even Linux users have to watch out for. I know Linux is much better than windows when it comes to security. But still sometimes I feel like we may feel to safe on our OS.more ...
