I have an Asus 1005HA-V netbook running Jaunty with XFCE4. I didn't know until just a moment ago that when I switched from Gnome to XFCE, I somehow lost sound and volume control. I don't know if the driver got deleted, and I don't know how to check. Any ideas are welcome, thanks.
I have an EeePC 1005HA running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 that I'm trying to lock down for a school setting. I don't want the students to be able to turn off the wireless (Fn+F2) or put the netbook to sleep (Fn+F1). I can disable the individual keys (F1, F2, etc.) using a keymod script, but I can't disable the key combination. Any help would be appreciated with this! Thanks! :)
My ASUS sees both wired and wireless networks in ubuntu 12.04 LTS. However, I want to run Joli OS, but in Joli OS the wireless isn't working.
The newest Joli OS is ver. 1.2 and is based on ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Hi,
sorry for posting twice but I understand that tutorials are not meat to add posts to any more (?). So, I repeat the post I appended at the end of the thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1663788&page=2. I hope that this is not against the rules:

The newest Joli OS is ver. 1.2 and is based on ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
The ASUS EeePC 1025C is a new netbook, and uses the Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter chip on a PCI bus on the motherboard.
Problem: Joli OS works on a wired network connection, but it doesn't see any wireless network.
Hello, I'm considering buying an Asus eee pc 1005HA-H.
I would like to if things like Wireless, Blue tooth, Hot keys, Web cam will work out of the box, and if not what configuration steps are necessary.

Hey gang, so i got into netbooks, got me a snappy Asus 1005, love it. It came with Xp and i quickly downloaded 9.10, wiped the drive and did a fresh install. Wireless/Wired gave me some troubles but all the tutorials online made it very simple.
I have Ubuntu 9.10 running on a Dell E6400. Nearly every time when I start it up, wireless networking doesn't work. If I click on the networking icon, Wired Networking shows "Disabled" (which is normal) and Wireless Networking shows "Networking is disabled".
Most of the hardware on the EeePC 1001HA works out-of-the box with Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10, Linux Mint 8-9. Touchpad, sound card, webcam and most Fn keys work by default. No problem with usb pendrive or external Hard Disk, suspend and hibernate, Compiz...
