By a show of hands, who regularly watches content from YouTube’s so-called channels? You know, the channels partly funded by YouTube with the goal to make YouTube more like traditional television. So hands up. No one? Yeah, that’s about right.
Last October, YouTube announced a major push towards original, high-quality content with a slew of partnerships with top web video producers.
Google-owned YouTube is continuing its original channels push to attract more advertising dollars – by expanding its programming line-up internationally with the launch of country-specific channels in Europe. An announcement on the YouTube blog notes that ”a new generation of original channels” are launching in France, Germany, the U.K., along with new channels in the U.S.

YouTube has been making a ton of updates to its UI lately, but the video-sharing platform isn’t quite ready to call it quits just yet. The company announced on its Google+ page today that it has updated its Android app and mobile web to better align those experiences with the most recent update to its homepage.
YouTube is the most popular video sharing site – or I can say it has videos about everything. When you’re watching videos on YouTube (Suppose You’re using Ubuntu 11.10) and some of them are such videos that you watch often – repeatedly, in that case you might want to download/save it to your computer’s hard drive.

Earlier tonight I turned on pc, then noticed Win 8 Updates was doing it's work.
Once that settled down, I went onto YouTube and found I had lost every one of my videos that I had built up over a good few months.
Is this a google thing or a Win 8 thing??.
Why do Apple and Android assume everyone wants and desperately needs fb or twitter. Personally I wish they would cease to exist.

I am using youtube-dl to download some videos from youtube. But when I write:

I get:
