http://androidforums.com – Is this normal for 3G? i have never tethered this phone before (using wifi tether for root users, no other app works probably because they don't use root priviledge) so i know i never hit any invisible cap, but my phone speeds while doing so according to speedtest.net and speakeasy's speed test site both report back a lousy .20-25mbps down and less than .10 up. this translates to 200-250kbps down and 100 or less kbps up. i thought 3G had the ability to go well upwards of 1mbps down at least? i have tried looking over every setting, changed the wifi channel, DNS, etc, and no improvement. is th (General)

I am new to this site. I have been struggling to resolve an issue that has been bugging me since i got my phone. I am trying to successfully tether 4g lte to my iPad at decent speeds. When i use my stock wifi tether, i get 0.14 mbps- 0.55mbps. When i use wireless tether for root users i can get about 1.0-2.5 max. When i tether my laptop, i can get up to 27 mbps.

I have Wifi Tether for Root on my phone and my laptop sees (and is currently using) the phone's connection. However, my Nexus 7 does not. I've tried other tether apps as well, same problem.

What could possibly be the issue? The lack of 3G is a real sore point for me with this device...

Guys, need some help. I am on AOPK JB ROM and Wifi Tether is supposed to work, et I am having troubles getting it to work on mine. I have used both the built in hot spot as well as Wifi Tether for Root. On the built in hot spot, it will work till the point of showing up on my tablet or other phones.

So I managed to install clockworkmod, and rooted by stock rom with superadmin. I installed Wifi Tether for root phones, it works perfectly. I ran across some issues though. There is something strange happening.

forgive me if this has been answered before but i was curious as to this apps settings to get the hotspot to function correctly so my laptop can find the signal...

WiFi Tether for Root Users is the Google Play app.

I do have root using poot, have the Hydro, but using the default settings, nothing that utilizes WiFi will find the cells hotspot. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Yesterday i recieved the notification that 4.1.2 was ready for install on my stock yakju galaxy nexus. After the install i noticed i could no longer tether (that same day i had tethered my xoom over wifi pre update). Today i tried to tether with wifi, usb, and bluetooth and not one of them will work. I've reset the computers/tablets, i've reset the phone, and i'm 100% stock with no root.
