It’s been mentioned numerous times already. Now we can add another source regarding the 32GB Nexus 7. This time it’s making an appearance on Staples’ business site, Staples Advantage, with a retail price of $248. Additionally, coming in a few bucks cheaper than the 16GB version is a little concerning, and backing what has been confirmed regarding it replacing the 16GB.
With Google’s The Playground is Open event only days away, we have already seen the Google Play Store “de-list” the 8GB version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet. A 32GB Nexus 7 device is in the works along with a 3G-enabled variant, which apparently has prompted some retailers in the UK to guess these devices will be announced next Monday.
According to a leak from UK based phone retailer Carphone Warehouse, our Nexus 7 storage problems are soon to be over. The image above clearly lists a 32gb version of the flagship Google tablet and although it doesn’t say how much the new version will cost, I’m willing to bet it’ll be around $300, which is still less than its rival, the 32gb iPad.
There’s no question that Google and ASUS have a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 primed and ready to go, but when will it launch? Well earlier rumors suggested October 24, which is next week, but it’s possible it could launch as early as this week. UK tech site ITProPortal says it will appear in the Christmas gift guide for UK retailer Argos.
Google is dropping the price on its 7-inch tablet. The 16GB model will soon cost $199, down from the original $249 MSRP. Likewise, a new model, a 32GB flavor, will occupy the $249 price point. There’s no word what’s to come of the 8GB model although early speculation stated that it could drop in price by as much as $100.
Google was supposed to have a big Android event today in NYC.
Hopefully all of these leaks will subside soon by default, if anything. Like you, we were looking forward to Google’s event on Monday to hopefully quash the many rumors out there and to officially announce what we may already know. Today’s unofficial “announcement” comes by way of Office Depot regarding the 32GB Nexus 7.
Hey all,
Just a quick one, currently waiting for a eternally out of stock 32GB Nexus 10 in the UK, does anyone think the extra 16GB is worth the difference in price? I currently have an old laptop that stores all my media so there's no way i'd fit it all on the Nexus anyway. What do you guys think?
Cheers!
I have a 16GB Nexus 7 that I'm about to pass on to a family member as I just bought a 32GB Nexus 7. I have a full back-up of the 16GB made with ROM Manager. Can I copy that back-up file onto my 32GB and then use it as a Restore or Recovery file? I'd love not to have to redo all the programs and configurations I have but I don't want to screw something up.
The officers at AndroidPolice have spotted a 32GB Nexus 7, Google and Asus’ addicting mini-tablet, for $249 on the Staples website.
