The 25 most searched mobile phones in India in 2012: TMI survey

Of late we have been seeing Indian brands launching smartphones in the same price range in which MNC players are introducing feature phones. Of the 25 most viewed handsets in India, 14 were from Indians players as compared to 11 from global brands.

In the last TMI survey, Sony dominated the top 10 chart. However, Samsung had two phones in the list which have been there for long.

Opera in its survey also said that mobile internet is mostly popular in Android users in India.

In this month's Hotlist, eight were from Micromax; six were from Samsung; five from Karbonn; two from Nokia; and one each from Apple, Xolo, Intex and Sony.

There are a lot of people that think Android is better than iOS for many reasons, but most fans won’t put simplicity at the top of the list. Well according to a survey by Siegel+Gale, Samsung Galaxy phones are simpler than the iPhone. This survey was conducted with 400 people, and while both phones scored well, Samsung’s Galaxy line came out as the winner.

Amid all the Windows Phone, luridly coloured Lumia hype, it’s easy to forget Nokia sells a far more successful line of mobile phones, based on its Series 40 OS.
