I bought an Asus Xonar U1 external soundcard when I was running Windows Vista.
I installed UBuntu a couple of months ago and sound "works" - meaning that I hear music when I'm supposed to hear it.
However, the sound is disappointingly thin compared to what I was getting with Vista.

I have Asus K55V, fedora 17 64 biti instaled. I have audio from laptop, but I canot use an audio sistem because when I connect the audio jack in audio out port, it doesn't get out any sound anymore. The sound from laptop stops and audio sistem doesn't work either. In win 7 it works OK. The sound hard from my laptop is provided by realteck.
I'm trying to play audio using a HTML5 Audio tag on my phone.

Sound for various devices is at best erratic. It is hit or miss whether sound emits at any given time.
Sometimes Flash player (in Firefox) has sound, sometimes not.
I've just got the asus n76vz dh71 with sonicmaster subwoofer. I got the output on the sonicmaster, but essential its a right channel, not the sub. I was following this

Hi guys, I'm not sure im posting this in the right place or not. Im a world of warcraft player and i need to use Mangler in place of vent. I installed Mangler and one of its requirements was pulse-audio. I installed pulse-audio everything worked great except i couldn't get sound out of wow if i started mangler first and vice-versa. I then found a version of Mangler that worked with alsa.
