I've been searching the forums and google for a while and nothing seems to work. I have a top and bottom panel in ubuntu 12.04 gnome classic using the default ambiance theme.
My top panel has all my most used apps on but they are all the same size as the panel and touching each other. I'd like to reduce them and space them out a bit.
Anyone managed this and know how to do it?
Thanks.
Ubuntu 11.04 Natty uses Unity as default desktop environment, but this by no means the classic Gnome 2 desktop has been discarded.
Hello ubuntuforums, I recently installed ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop, I started out with ubuntu 10.04 so gnome classic was the desktop environment of my choice, I dislike unity and gnome 3 isn't my cup of tea so to say.
After I installed a package called gnome-panel to enable gnome classic I went on to try to get my eyefinity setup to work, without success.
Yesterday I just installed Gnome Classic via Terminal.
After I login to Gnome Classic (No 3D effect) ... as 10.04, there are 2 panel.
1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.
But no matter what application is opened, my bottom panel is always empty.
How can I make all opened/run application is displayed the bottom panel?
Today I just tried the elementary desktop environment in my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. It comes with a Gnome style top panel, main menu on the left and indicators, user menu on the right. At bottom of screen it’s the launcher: Docky.
The main menu is only Applications button which shows items in page. The system tray area looks same to gnome-classic.
Q. How to move launchers along the panel - to space them out?
I'm just setting up a user account on a fresh install of 12.04.1
with Gnome classic. In the top panel, Commonly used apps are added, by dragging a launcher up to the panel (as per the old "add to panel" method). They are present, but are crammed next to the menu, and crammed next to each other.
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 with Gnome Classic, and I got one more problem with the display.
When I launch programs, the corresponding icons are not on the bottom panel anymore...
How can I solve this ?
I still prefer Gnome/classic desktop rather than the default Unity.
For some obscure reason all items disappeared from the Panel.
If I boot into Unity they are all there on the panel but Classic; none there.
I don't know how they disappeared but why should they be different.
Geffers
I'm running ubuntu 11.10 and deleted my bottom panel so i could run glx-dock.I ended up not liking it and wanted to return the bottom like it was before.I have searched the different options on here but nothing makes it go back to how it was.
