Hello,usually I don't need on thic PC Serbian lng but now I need to write in doc file and I can not or do not know how to change layout...I try to edit etc/default/keyboard, but with no success...
Keyboard Layout "German (qwerty)" missing since 12.04 states, that German (qwerty) was removed in favor of German(us). That layout however is not shown in the configuration dialogue. I tried manually configuring /etc/default/keyboard to
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="de"
XKBVARIANT="us"
XKBOPTIONS=""
but it didn't change anything.
Any advice?
I have Ubuntu 11.10. I have an English keyboard and have set the keyboard layout to English (UK) in the System settings -> Keyboard Layout. It is the only layout listed.

I decided to try out the alpha and it's really nifty, cheers for all the effort you've put into it!One thing that confused me for a little bit (and the reason I registered on this forum: to ask!) is how to set up the keyboard for UK (GB) layout. Under X instead the keyboard layout is chosen in a "layout" list included in the file /etc/X11/xkb/rules/evdev.lst.

I've just installed cinnamon and looks great. Except I can't see where to set the keyboard layout. There doesn't seem to be a keyboard layout icon on the panel and if I go into cinnamon settings->keyboard all I get are a couple of tabs saying Typing and Keyboard Shortcuts but no keyboard layout? And ideas please?
Hello,I have the Acer Aspire 5635wlmi laptop and I miss a lot 2 keys from my keyboard. On both sides of up arrow I have one key for Euro sign and one for dollar. I used xev so I could enable them from rc.xml but both keys are dead (nothing happening if I press them). Also I have the euro sign under "e" but I guess I have to enable that shortcut too.
