12.04/ RecordMyDesktop the sound isnt working...... Why?

http://askubuntu.com – im unable to record sound using this app. the check box is checked for the sound, it just doesnt record sound. idk what to do. i have ubuntu 12.04 64bit. plus nvidia drivers dont work what so ever. so im just using the default ubuntu drivers. i looked up the site for this app. they dont give an instructions on sound for this program. any help me please??? the microphone sound input works with it. but it cant record system sounds. (HowTos)

i have a headset attached with a microphone. All this on a single cable and when i plugged this into the headset jack, i can hear sound perfectly. I have another port for mic. But i dont want to use it. I need to record sound from the mic on the headset through headset port. I dont think for buying a splitter for the headset/mic combo cable to work.

I'm trying to record on F17 using gtk-recordmydesktop and I'm having zero luck getting sound to record.

The video records just fine but no dice on the sound.

How do you set gtk-mydesktop to record sound in F17?

I have already used recordmydesktop, xvidcap and kazam. My sound working fine with other audio or videos.

xvidcap doesn't record sound at all. I have tried many ways. If I try as: 'padsp xvidcap', it also gives error, like: /dev/dsp cannot found or missing. I have changed it to /dev/snd.

Hi everyone. When I record sound using microphone I get a strong background noise though I can record sound. How can I get rid of this noise? Thanks in advance.

Ubuntu 12.04 64bit 5.8gb memory i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz Graphics: Unknown (and I don't remember - something like Nvidia 260)

I have started getting problems with my sound. Once in a while, it plays the same second three times or so - like a record jumping.

Iv'e read a lot of People are having problems with the system sounds don't play. I can play sounds when going into ; System Settings\sound\ sound effect tab There are no options here to select sound themes or anything like that. This plays sounds and I can listen to music, youtube..

I have Ubuntu 9.10 and for some odd reason, I can hear anything I say into my microphone come out through the speakers but when ever I try to record anything no sound is recorded at all. Nothing seems to pick up sound from the mic. Chat programs, sound editors, nothing works.

I have an NEC Lavie laptop from Japan.

Any suggestions?

Just recently installed 9.04 #!, and foudn my sound does not work at all..I have tried the ubuntu forums stickied thread about sound, and ive checked that my sound is not muted.
