I need to check 12 hard disk for health. I've got a server which can hold up to 4 disks at a time and was wondering if I could boot a live cd and use a linux disk checking utility to check all 4 disks one after another consecutively instead of one at a time?
All the other boot time software I found only checks one at a time with manual intervention after each one.
I'm writing a script that will gain remote access to machines in a lab and assess the disks in the system and what it is used for. I need to:
1. get all of the disks in a system, this also includes SAN disks as
well as non standard HW raid controllers.
2. check if the disks are part of a software raid.
3. check the disk for partitions and if they are boot-able.
