So I updated to ICS few weeks ago but now i cannot connect to wifi hotspots.
I generally use connectify to make my laptop as wifi hotspot, to which my other devices, including phone, connect. On gingerbread, i was able to connect to this laptop wifi, but now i cannot. It shows in the available network but wen i click connect, nothing happens (it doesnt connect), no erro rmessages.
I am trying to connect to a WiFi-network of which I know the SSID, password and type of encryption. I can connect to it with my desktop.
If I try to connect to it with my laptop, the connection is building up ("loading circle") but after a while the loading stops and there is no notification that something is wrong. In both cases I use nm-applet. I am on a Xubuntu 12.04 machine.
Essentially I want to use KDEConnect to connect my phone to my laptop while doing presentations so I can use it as a remote control.The problem is, on the university network the ports I need are blocked so I cannot connect the phone to the laptop via wifi.What I can do is set up a portable hotspot on my phone then connect my laptop to my phone.The only downside of doing this is that I cannot then
