http://www.ubuntuhcl.org – I tried everything I could think of, followed all the manuals. It used to work if I compiled everything myself, but the maintainer stopped supporting this card long ago. There are some bugs open in launchpad regarding this hardware. (Hardware)

I have a Terratec Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS (ID: 0ccd:005e), but I'm unable to use it in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). The kernel 2.6.31 already includes the em28xx drivers, but there's no firmware installed. Concerning the firmware, I followed this guide (valid for Ubuntu 9.04 and a tuner with a different ID):

As the in built sound card on my laptop (an ergo microlite 411) died, I got a replacement usb sound card, an Aureon Dual from Terratec, which is meant to be compatible. So far I've managed to get the laptop to acknowledge the presence of the sound card when plugged in, but there's no sound coming out? Any suggestions? I've been trying to fix this on an insomnia kick, but no joy.

Does anyone know much about suspend / resume and how to fix/troubleshoot problems with it?

My questions are......

1) How long does it normally take to get a response from the people that work on these sort of things??

The decision was taken to use Launchpad to track bugs on Linux Mint: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint Philip Morrell (emorrp1) now acts as our bug supervisor.

Because of a bug, bug 902049 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=902049 the sound card Tascam US-122L doesn't work with the newer kernels. (The bug is also described here https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53241 and here https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/33499 ) I have compiled many kernels, but with the same result. The last kernel I tried was 3.9-RC2.
