VLC and other video programs not workingview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – The original thread was about a couple issues and 'ldd /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/codec/libavcodec_plugin.so' might have helped in one of them, but in the end it didn't matter.I agree this thread has nothing to with some of the recent issues with vlc. karol https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=25522 2013-08-04T03:39:58Z (HowTos)

WiFi Works, but no Ethernetview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Hi everybody,I'm fairly new to Linux and very new to Arch (Ubuntu convert). I installed my system today but I have an issue I haven't been able to work out. During the install I was unable to get ethernet to work. I was, however, able to get WiFi to work, so I continued the install using that, figuring I could mess with the ethernet after completing the installation. (HowTos)

Web page with JS kills Xview story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – I just looked at the source code and tried it. The page doesn't contain any exploit or anything and runs like any other application. The code is safe, it won't harm anything. I does crash the X server though. What's happening: The web page just makes a bunch of <canvas> elements of size 2500x2500 and draw a 1700x1700 black rectangle on it. (HowTos)

less no longer recognises u following G to end of file?view story

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Stebalien wrote:You're probably right about the line endings. By bisecting the file, I meant copying out the first half, viewing it in less, doing the same with the second half and then continuing to halve the affected portion.Oh, right. That should have been obvious. Thanks for clarifying. It seems to be errors from xkbcomp which cause the issue. (HowTos)
